"The further west we drove, the more Pop everything looked on the highways... to us, it was the new Art. Once you 'got' Pop, you could never see a sign the same way again. And once you thought Pop, you could never see America the same way again." Andy Warhol made his revelatory road trip west from New York to LA in 1962. Stephen and Chuck Kanner are attuned to this playful environment which surrounded them in childhood. They have created a body of work that captures the spirit of southern California - wide sun-drenched streets, chrome embellished cars, drive-in motels, and cheery, oversized advertising signs.
