Rate this book
The new fifth edition of this popular resource retains its comprehensive coverage, number of skills, and a two-column format with rationales for each step. This new edition emphasizes evidence-based practice and features delegation principles, new related interventions for unexpected outcomes, long-term care and home careconsiderations, and new procedural guidelines boxes that present basic skills in a streamlined format. In addition, new expanded skills include using small volume nebulizers, applying pneumanic compression devices, placing a client on a rotokinetic bed, administering continuous subcutaneous medications, and irrigating a small-bore feeding tube.

The rationale for the skills is about the only good aspect if this. Otherwise, you can buy the Fundamentals book and save yourself money. Unless your instructor INSISTS you need both, and then you're just screwed.

It's ok, gives good "play by play" on medical skills. However, it has conflicts with the hardcover book.

It will be a good resource for the final semeste placement of school, so not to be tossed.

I didn't realize I had read it until I recognized the cover and rooted it out and there it was. I didn't realize Ms Perry was an actual nurse. A sister under the skin !
