Great llsource if valid assessment practices. Decent tool for school leaders. Like most books on effective teaching and leading it is a horrible source on how to accomplish these things from a pragmatic point of view.

Nothing new if you've been spending a lot of time reading in this area already. What Davies and crew do well is to summarize the work in backward design and effective assessment. This book could serve as a valuable starting point for teams wanting to improve assessment process as well as a refresher for those already steeped in the work.
