"This work is a record of instruction received during different states of Yoga practice; that sealed book opened by the aspiring student during his development into his own inner states of being." - M (the author).
This precious book stands next to Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine (1888) as one of the most important spiritual books of recent centuries.
First published in 1931, at a time when charlatans and fortune-seekers were rapidly expanding their efforts to mislead humanity through mischievous spiritual teachings, this mysterious book by an "anonymous" author opened the doors for sincere seekers to real spirituality. He explains how proper management of our psychological and physical energies brings us into harmony with the divine. His message is at once scientific and mystical, intuitive and concrete, and completely in harmony with the scriptures of every religion. Although the author "M" could not state explicitly what was destined to be fully revealed beginning in 1950 by Samael Aun Weor, when illuminated by the light of the ancient Gnostic teachings, the wisdom of this book can truly be understood and valued. It provides a deep yet easy to understand explanation of how our bodies and minds relate to nature and to the superior levels of existence, and what we must do if we long to escape the suffering in our lives.
This book was written to meet the demands of those who seek knowledge regarding the finer forces within nature and man. The book is but a slight introduction to an unlimited science. This book was both a spiritual philosophy and science from different states of consciousness. Some parts of the book were slow going, and I thought a few chapters would never end. The book was also a little advanced in the philosophical sense. Beginners on the spiritual path may want to save this book for later. The only complaint was that the book was very heavy on the philosophy of this ancient science. Breath and meditation exercises would have been a great addition. However, I still highly recommend this book.
No practical application of whatever it's trying to teach, you need to be initiated into their school and have a mentor to learn the techniques. Utter BS. Don't waste your time.
This book is very practical because it seems to have been written right at the beginning of the New Western World. Sometimes ancient teachings are too hard understand and become very complicated for modern man but Master M created techniques that can be used for everyday life and he explains them in a way that make sense for our day and time. The way he explains things scientifically with familiar terms like "atoms" and "radiation" made certain teachings really easy to comprehend. The explanation of what goes into conscious eating, drinking, and breathing is very specific and in depth. My favorite teaching in the book is ASPIRING, what it is, what it does, and how to do it. Through out the whole book he stresses the importance of how we should be aspiring all the time...even while sleeping. Besides noticing the powerful effects of aspiring I have seen such a huge difference in the use of adding sulfur and vinegar to my daily regimen. I could not put this book down, it just spoke to me, it was filled with so much light and love. This book has taught me ways to become a better person and gave me an understanding beyond what meets the eye. I love when authors or teachers don't use their real or full names, it just shows how little ego is involved and how much love they have for the teachings....and for us. May God bless you all as you find truth in The Dayspring of Youth!
This book is a presentation of yoga, but not the yoga Westerners would be accustomed to. We think yoga is a form of physical exercise similar to Pilates. This would be Hatha yoga most likely.
This is an initiation to Eastern yoga which is very much of a spiritual nature. Yoga means union (with divinity). The teacher’s intent is to introduce Eastern yoga in a form that can be assimilated by Westerners.
There are many useful techniques and tips to help us progress physically and spiritually. The biggest difference between this book and other books on spiritualism is that the teacher is a Master.
