I got this book as a gift, and was initially disappointed when I discovered that it was neither a real almanac nor a sports almanac. I started reading, though, and I found a bunch of articles and stories that I still love to reread to this day. My favorite is the story of why George Washington had to move his birthday from February 11 to the 22nd because of a world-wide change in the calendar. There's also a great article about how the United States moved to standard time in the 1880's, and a relatives chart that tells you what a cousin once removed and a great aunt is.
