There were several wonderful bits of wisdom found throughout this book. A few that I really enjoyed were:
"Consecutive projects will gradually help you improve your piecing and quilt finishing skills." -- This one gave me permission to work on more than one project at a time!!
"If the points get lopped off or the corners don't exactly match, that's part of the playful charm of these projects." -- Allowance to not stress about being a perfectionist.
"To see the values of the fabrics you select for your quilt, set your digital camera to show only black and white. To create contrast in your quilt, use values at least two steps apart on the gray scale." -- I hadn't thought of this concept before, but it is a game changer.
"Sew with the bias-cut fabric piece on the bottom whenever possible. The feed dogs will keep it moving without stretching." -- I have been sewing/quilting for years and never knew this.
"Keep a memory album or portfolio of the quilts you make and give away." -- Everyone should do this. Too bad I didn't document my completed quilts when I started quilting.
