Such a beautiful story, but the book... it's awful. I'm from Chile and let me tell you, this woman is impressive. Her story is something unique, everything, since the start of it. But the book, man. It doesn't have the spirit it's supposed to have. Beautiful story, bad book.
Creo que una historia fuerte y desgarradora como la de García tenía mucho potencial, y en vez de eso la secuencia se torna inelocuente, superficial y, lamentablemente, irrelevante. No es ni entretenido, ni angustiante, ni reflexivo, ni nada.
“Where am I?, Am I dreaming?, It's so dark here!” Daniela (pg 25) The book, Elegi Vivir (I chose to live) is narrated by Daniela Gonzales. A girl who lost both her legs and her hands due to a railroad accident. “Elegi Vivir, tells the story of Daniela as she learns to adapt to her new lifestyle as she faces reality. She shares deep thoughts and her road to recovery. I absolutely loved this book. I would recommend it to anyone looking to read a great recovery story. The book made me realize that I may have issues, but others may also have it worse than me. My favorite character was definitely Daniela. I loved how strong she was during her recovery. She really inspired me, and I hope that she will inspire others as well. “It’s incredible how all of a sudden, in a second, everything changes” (Daniela, pg 209) This book is really inspiring and it teaches to value every second and not take anything for granted.
