I received this book on the 30th August and read it by the 31st August. I found it to be a good easy read, taking you on a quick tour of America.I loved the characters of Becky and Roosevelt the dog.A good twist to the story line in the middle of the book. I would recommend this book.
I was lucky enough to win a free copy of this book through first reads.
This book was an easy and quick read - I got through it in about three hours.
I think the best was to describe it is as a fast paced caper. The main character, Matt Sheridan, is a writer and is trying to produce a book based on his experiences while staying in San Francisco and the tone certainly comes across as factual. There aren't really any detailed descriptions of what is going on, it just steams through the storyline bounding from one event to the next.
The characters are uncomplicated and likeable. It is set in the 1950s but I don't think you would necessarily notice this other than the fact the characters have to use payphones a lot!
A bit of a corny (to use the author's own description) ending but it was a satisfying one.
If you are in the mood for an uncomplicated, easy read this would be perfect.
