The Definitive Pictorial Chronicle of World War II charts the greatest event in human history, from the pre-war tensions to the final reckoning; a conflict that claimed the lives of more than 60 million people and defined the political and social landscape of our modern world. Contemporary news reports and over 1000 compelling photographs from the archives of the Daily Mail, many seen here for the first time, evoke the epic scale of the combat.
The pictures are spectacular. It is easy to understand. I would have prefer to have it in a chronological timeline. Sometimes they tell events that happen later and I was a little bit mix by that. It is centered on British with mention of others countries when important events occur in them. Overall, it helped me to better understand and follow the WWII. Definetively worth reading!
