Nice overview, but very focused on Britain. Therefor I wouldn't call it a definite pictorial chronicle, more a British definite pictorial chronicle

The pictures are spectacular. It is easy to understand. I would have prefer to have it in a chronological timeline. Sometimes they tell events that happen later and I was a little bit mix by that. It is centered on British with mention of others countries when important events occur in them. Overall, it helped me to better understand and follow the WWII. Definetively worth reading!
