"This book is one of the best books I have read. I enjoyed the story, the action, the characters and finally the true following of each episode and scene was done very well. I rank this up with books like Twilight, The Craft and LOTR! Very good and well done Laura." R.B. Michaels

I am an author of several different names and genres because I like to write what I like to read which is a little of everything. Here are the books written and published by me:
Author Laura E. Thompson (Fantasy):
Witches of Tradbeldam Series. An NA high Fantasy with Romance.
Elven Quest Series: A YA Fantasy series, cozy and cute. A classic heroine's Journey.

Author L.E. LaBarge (YA Coming of Age):
Freak or Unique Series: Inspired by my true childhood growing up with Epilepsy and my friends that all felt like we struggled with something different. Meant to inspire and comfort YAs.

Author L.E. Minx (NA Spicy Contemporary Romance):
Coming soon, my first CR:
Mediterranean Waves: Co-written with a friend, it is a story of a woman with a broken heart trying to heal and find herself again.

First of all: it's 'sordid' past not 'sorted' past. The summary reads like a toddler wrote it and the actual book is not much better. Could do with a developmental editior and maybe some actual talent. Words like 'mamin' and 'papin' sound like baby talk as opposed to cultural terms for parents. 1/5 stars, would not recommend

Can’t wait to see what is next

I was excited to discover another series by one of my favorite authors, and I was far from disappointed. This is a book about coming of age and the magic vs. nonmagical battle. As in the Elvan Quest series, there are strong female characters and so much positivity shining through in their actions. I recommend this author to anyone and everyone who enjoys a good fantasy novel.

Wow, "The Secret of Magik and Blood" by Laura is an absolute page-turner! From the get-go, you’re thrown into Sowena’s wild ride as she’s chased from her home by soldiers and dogs. Talk about an intense start! What follows is an incredible journey of discovering her hidden magik and the secrets of her mom’s past. It’s like stepping into a whole new world full of witches, spells, and unexpected twists.

Sowena’s transformation is seriously inspiring. She goes from a scared girl on the run to a badass witch embracing her powers. The way Laura writes her struggles and victories makes you root for her every step of the way. Plus, the coven she joins? Total goals. The sisterhood vibes are real, and it’s heartwarming to see Sowena find her place among them while uncovering the truth about her lineage.

The book nails the balance between heart-pounding action and deep, emotional moments. The war backdrop adds a constant sense of danger and urgency, making every spell and battle feel crucial. Laura’s take on magik is super imaginative – you can almost feel the energy crackling off the pages. And watching Sowena master her abilities? So satisfying!

But let’s talk about the romance. Amid all the chaos, Sowena experiences the sweet confusion of first love. It’s such a beautiful, genuine subplot that adds a softer touch to the intense storyline. Laura seamlessly weaves this romance into the plot, making it a perfect blend without overshadowing the main events. The chemistry is real, and you’ll definitely find yourself smiling at their interactions.

All in all, "The Secret of Magik and Blood" is a must-read for anyone who loves fantasy, strong heroines, and a bit of romance. Laura’s world-building is on point, and the story will keep you hooked till the very end. If you haven’t picked this up yet, you’re missing out!

I am now obsessed with this book. It's certainly up there on my favorites list.
This book checks off all the right boxes for me. There's magic, witches, romance, fighting, etc. It's awesome.
The magic is interesting. It had rules and was overall written in a way that felt unique and it made the actions scenes that much more interesting. The large cast of characters are amazingly written. I never once got them confused with one another because they're all extremely different. This also makes then entire story that much more engaging because they all have differing reactions and responses to the situations they're facing.
Now I won't go too much into detail about the romance or the fighting because spoilers, but both are fantastic. All I will say is that Will is my favorite and I cannot wait to (hopefully) see more of him in the future.
I cannot wait to read the next one.

This is my first delve into reading speculative fiction and may I say that it is a completely different experience.
The visuals are great - I felt like I was in the story, with Sowena's family and with the coven.
The characters are well-rounded and work well.
There's not much more I can say because, as I said, it's my first delve into speculative fiction and while it was an interesting read, it's not my forte.
Having said that, if you're interested in taking the path down speculative fiction, then Laura's books are the way to go.

Laura really builds up how the magic works in an intricate way. It is well defined and the characters do become more and more interesting as you go. It is a fun read and can't wait to start book 2. In a realm of witchers and witches and more it is an interesting and fun telling.

Fun story, but the pacing at which events were occurring felt a bit too fast for me. Still, the story kept me engaged and turning pages.
