After a brief description of the Coast Guard's mission, several types of military vehicles are described. These include cutters, icebrakers, the HC-130 Hercules, HC-144 Ocean Sentry, the MH-60 Jayhawk, and the MH-65 Dolphin. Back matter includes brief lists of suggested websites and books for additional reading, a glossary, and a short index. With fairly large print, plenty of color photos, and more space devoted to illustrations than to text, the book offers a glossy overview to this branch of the United States military forces.
