The Scot-irish Experience

Rate this book
Daniel Thompson was born in Jacksonville, Illinois, on July 31, 1945. After doing extensive research of his family history in Greene and Morgan Counties, Illinois, he found that the story of his family extended to Dumbarton, Scotland, to the year 1375 C.E. With a good start, thanks to his aunt and a second cousin, Thompson was able to document his family history with most branches originating in County Antrim, Ireland, and Dumbarton, Scotland. He found his family history was typical of thousands of other Scot-Irish families who struggled for survival and fought for way of life from the 14th to 18th century, from Scotland, Ireland and after they immigrated to America.
