***Rated by my daughter***

Reading this book with my youngest daughter was a lot of fun. The setting was unique and the story exciting. We had a good time looking up all the endangered animal references and learning all about them.

For kids: this is a great adventure story with a brother and sister who use some great kids power to save animals from evil people.

For teachers: This book was fantastic for my 3rd grade Literature Circles (AR level 4.0). None of my kids struggled to locate information for their jobs. The amount of new vocabulary is awesome, but not overwhelming. There's plenty of action to track. The story allows students to make multiple predictions along the way. Even though there are many illustrations throughout the book, there are still many parts of the story where you can check student's visualizing skills.
But most importantly, the interest level from my 3rd graders was high.

Oh, I almost forgot....listed in the back of the book is a website that Fact Finders for Lit. Circles can find information to share for their job.

I'm definitely going to buy the rest of the series.

Poacher Panic is an exciting and fast-moving adventure that kicks off Jan Burchett’s Wild Rescue series with energy and purpose. It follows twins Ben and Zoe, who unexpectedly find themselves swept into a top-secret mission for a global wildlife protection agency. With high stakes and a unique setting, this book delivers a thrilling ride for animal lovers and action fans alike.

What sets this book apart is how it blends suspenseful storytelling with a strong message about protecting endangered animals. The environmental themes are clear and meaningful without ever slowing down the plot. Burchett’s writing is direct, vivid, and well-paced—perfect for middle-grade readers who enjoy fast action and a good cause.

Ben and Zoe make a strong team. Their bravery, quick thinking, and determination to do the right thing make them great role models. The situations they face are tense and believable, keeping readers on edge while still staying appropriate for younger audiences. There’s a good mix of danger, teamwork, and clever problem-solving throughout the story.

Overall, Poacher Panic is a fantastic start to an engaging series. It offers adventure with heart and teaches the value of wildlife conservation in a way that feels fun and empowering.

Omg, this was a great read. I can't believe I just let it sit on my shelf for a couple of years. I cried at the point when I thought the tiger died. Oh my that had my heart broken. And knowing that this actually happens in real world too, and people kill and then stuff wild animals, is really sad, and makes me cry. I hate animal abuse. I do not stand. Period. People who hurt animals, I hate you. PERIOD. DO not stand. I don't even know how a human being can hurt such loving beautiful animals, its not like their doing anything to you, all they are doing is going on with their own life, and living it to the fullest, and then there are jerks who come and hurt them. Awe my heart. I'm so happy that Zoe and Ben saved the beautiful tiger and the little cubs, oh my heart fixed at the ending. My heart couldn't handle if they died. I'm happy these twins were good at this mission and saved the tiger and cubs, I hope they get arrested and rot. Awe This book is good. Just sad, in my opinion. It just made me cry. But the ending was a bandage to fix the broken heart I got during the read. But besides the dumb people in the book who hurt animals, the book was really good! sorry for the rant.

Ben and Zoe's uncle brings them up to date on his secret organization, WILD, and they soon go on their first expedition to protect species from extinction. They have a cool invention that helps them, BUG-solar powered communicator, translator, tracker, video game player. They go to Indonesia to save a tiger with cubs.

It is an exciting adventure for sure. I think many of my 2,3,4th graders would love these books. It is a series.

This was a super book. I really enjoyed all the characters and their personalities. The story line was great. There are emotions, suspense, action, fun, quick thinking, adventure, sweetness and a good ending. This is something I wouldn't mind reading again and can't wait to read more in the series. Great for all ages and not too long. Enjoy!

A good short read, and really convinces you about all the wrongs about poaching, if you think poachers are doing something wrong, which no one in their right minds would think.

The title of my book is Poacher Panic, written by the author Jan Burchett. I really liked this book because it was very interesting. It has a lot of excitement that makes you want to keep on reading to find out what will happen next. This book is about twin brother and sister going on a secret mission to save an endangered tiger and it's cub. They go on the secret mission to Indonesia with an organization called WILD.There are dangerous obstacles that that they need to overcome during their mission. As a brother and sister team they work together to save the animals. Zoe is smart and brave and she really likes the animals that they save. Ben is also smart and brave in this book. He also really likes to eat. I recommend this book to boys and girls my age because the characters are the same age as us and we can relate to them. people should read this book and the others in its series because it is filled with action and excitement. My rating is ten out of ten because when I keep reading it feels like I am on the mission also. This book and others in the series has taught me more about animals and poachers and that we need to take care of them.

" This is the is the weirdest present i've ever gotten!" said Ben. It's my birthday too, said Zoe
They hate being twins. They get mad at each other all the time. Ben was holding a glass eyeball. and Zoe was yelling at Ben. Ben had long hair and freackels. Zoe had short hair and freakels.

As an adult, I found this one a bit too unrealistic. As an educator, I enjoyed the connections to science, geography, and technology. As a school librarian, I'm glad this book stands alone as a complete story. I foresee this series will be one that flies off of my elem library shelf--endangered animals, world-wide travel, and adventure with two young students will make this a favorite for many. Thanks to the MO KC3 committee for introducing me to this book.
