Assistant DA Megan Worth knew her Justice Department-paid vacation had too many strings attached -- specifically identifying Michael Vallaincourt, casino manager. She recognized him immediately. Michael had been her first love, and the sizzling attraction was as potent as ever. But Michael was no longer the high school rebel who'd set every female fluttering. He was mixed up in a dangerous game ... and she was supposed to trap him.
Megan found herself entangled, caught up in her deceptions. The more time she spent with him. the less she believed Michael could be guilty ... until she saw the proof of his involvement. And all the while, the net grew tighter and tighter.
I would never thought this was a Marsha Canham book. Ever. It lacked her trade mark scope of an entire world within her books. There was no chemistry between characters, and the whole story seemed hurried, flat and so "Harlequin". I have always avoided the whole Harlequin thing because it just evokes to mind a pathetically fluffy, stereo typical romance that even I, who only reads romance, could not stand. I only gave in to this one because of the author. My mistake. But at least I know not to make it again.
