A tour through Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park, (complete with maps, legends, and detailed captions and factoids) introduces the park's flora, fauna, topography, history, weather, and attractions. Menor's Ferry, Mount Moran, The Old Patriarch, and Shoshone influences are all discussed.
This title is one in a series about national parks. Having read several adult fiction titles set in theGrand Tetons. I was eager to learn more about the actual national park. Done in sepia tones and also including photographs I do have a better understanding of the Park now. Interesting that one can view lots of wildlife along the snake river. Also interesting is that John D. Rockefeller owned and donated 33,000 acres to this park.
I think Lorbiecki undersold the park. (At least I hope so.)
I picked up this book because I'm visiting the park soon, and I wanted another perspective. After looking at this book, I would not choose to visit the Grand Teton National Park because Lorbiecki doesn't make it look or sound particularly interesting.
