In this beautifully illustrated book, author Paul Badde tracs the history of the Shroud of Turin and its lesser-known but more accessible companion, the Veil of Monoppello, a diaphanous cloth that bears the likeness of the face of Jesus.

This is a good book - he writes about the Resurrection and you feel as though you were there. It made me really contemplate that Easter Sunday morning and realize that we don't think about the Resurrection nearly as much as we should.

What he says about the "Veronica" veil is pretty radical and I can't bring myself to believe it yet....but he sure does make a strong case for it. It's really interesting to think about, that's for sure.

This book is a remarkable blend of investigative reporting and devotion, and the photographs are beautiful. Highly recommended, especially during Lent.
