Our Mother's Memories
You have four great-great-grandchildren that share the same birthday. The twins, Anthony and Alexis, and Macy were born on August 4, 2006. Mariah, sister of the twins, was born on August 4, 2005. Our family enjoyed having you live close by in Florida for seventeen years. I am thankful for those years and also for our nearly daily telephone chats. - Stanley
When you brought this journal from Florida with you, I started reading it and could not put it down. It brings to life so many experiences we could only wonder about. This journal is a wonderful treasure of memories for your grandchildren. It will give us the opportunity to share this with our grandchildren and also with your sisters and Katie, Elsie, Dorothy, Eve, Ann, Carol, Clarence, Gerald, Dewey and also for the families of Gertie and Ted who predeceased you. Thank you for writing this journal Mom. - Helen
I thank God for giving you many talents, Mother. You used them wisely, always helping and giving to others. The clothes you sewed, the quilts, afghans, woven baskets and ceramics remain with us as a reminder of you. You must have liked the name Henry. You married Henry Fisher (our father), named a son Henry James and married a second time, Henry Slager. After the third marriage to Henry Westra, we children said, "No more Henry's!" You laughed right along with us. - Shirley
I miss our weekly chats, our Sunday evening phone calls. We would chat about what was going on in our lives and in the lives of those around us. I have come to appreciate your ability to love and show concern for those God has put around you, no matter where you were in life. I can only hope to have and carry on some measure of this ability. Thank you for always being Mom. I look forward to the day when I see you again and we will serve our Lord forever. Thank you for directing your family toward an empty cross and a risen Savior. - Henry James
