a must for anyone interested in the historical and restoration aspects of ironwork - also, for anyone in architecture/interior design who needs/wants a closer (much closer) look at these elements. plenty of black & white photos to exemplify different styles.

the text is heavy on the history, placing the designs within a cultural framework that clarifies their practicality as well as their beauty.
