About the author

Nanci Cosby Johnson is a woman of depth and spiritual insight. She has a heart for Jesus that spills out in compassion for everyone with whom she comes in contact. Her faith was firmly established as a little girl when she stood on the marble steps in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma and sang, a cappella, “Lord, you are more precious than silver; Lord, you are more costly than gold; Lord, you are more beautiful than diamonds, and nothing I desire compares with You.” Though her journey took her on a dangerous and ugly path, the Lord truly has spun the straw of her past in to gold for her good and His glory, a promise He makes to all of us.

Nanci graduated from Madill High School in 1999 and received her AA degree in Applied Science from Tulsa Community College in 2005. She is married to Robert Johnson III and is the mother of Kaylan Hope and Addison Tate and stepmother of Angela Johnson. Nanci has served the Lord as an administrative assistant in an architectural firm, as Children's Minister, Escrow Officer, Preschool teacher, and is currently part-time Director of Evangelism at Church of the Good Shepherd in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Nanci has a burning passion to be a light to The Light. She has honored the memory of the victim in a fatal car accident by telling her story of redemption through the Victim's Impact Panel of Oklahoma, in school assemblies in both Texas and Oklahoma, and through the witness of her daily life.

Nanci and her family live in Mustang, Oklahoma and attend the Church of the Good Shepherd a United Methodist Church. When she isn't busy caring for her active family, she does volunteer work with various non-profits, she loves reading, crafting, frequenting thrift shops, writing poetry, doing puzzles, anything “turtles,” and using her organizational skills. She is a “cheerleader” and “soccer” mom as well as “Mom” to her feline children, Gracie and Lillie and to Tyke, the Turtle.
