In the second installment of the Slow Cooker culinary cozy mystery series-- Simmering Death--Sarah goes head to head with a local chef to see who makes the best dish. When one of the judges, and Sarah's harshest critic, is murdered on stage, Sarah is the focus of the investigation and must prove her own innocence.

Not that impressed, because the author does so much better. I think it is the theme. It is hard to make a culinary series around slow cooking. Throwing stuff in a crock pot just doesn't include enough diversity for a page turner series. Come on, no professional chef is going to pay a lady to teach him/her how to use a slow cooker. Too silly, even for a cozy. I do like the sheriff's character as it develops, but would like to see a lot more development in Rose and Adam, the main characters siblings. We don't know how they think, if they have any character flaws to work on, they just don't speak enough allow the reader to see any passion or uniqueness. Maybe in future titles?
Once again there were some grammatical errors that threw me off. Then again, I am an English teacher and this bugs me. :) Still was a good book that keep me reading.
