During the troubled years of war, Linn Mercybright finds her marriage to Charlie Truscott severely tested and passionately searches for self-fulfillment and success.
Seemed unfinished. The author could have given Charlie a bit more backbone to stand up to his nagging spiteful wife. I was surprised Linn was made out to be a drudge to live with. Glad it came to an end but it was incomplete
Good story as the families move into the Second World War and farming continues. But the ending was weak and disappointing for me given it was the end of this series.
The final book in the series and sadly I didn't enjoy this so much. Just when I thought things were going well for Linn and Jack there are yet more problems. Would Linn have reacted like she did?? I am not so sure.
A disappointing end to a great series. I enjoyed the first half, but from when the Second World War starts it all seems rushed and not thought out. A truly bizarre ending - unresolved and unfulfilling. Disappointed with this compared to the other 4 in the series which were really enjoyable.
