Susan describes fussy cutting as "selective cutting" and suggests making shapes out of template plastic. You can see through them and save them for future projects.
She also has "another way" to make half square triangles by stacking squares, cutting the squares on the bias, shuffling and resewing, and then cutting HSQs from the reassembled fabric.
Finally, she shows how to make a "square in a square in a square" enclosed by a border. It's kind of cool!

Excellent book for making quilts using those small left-over books and fat-quarters. Made one of the quilts and love it.
