The Divorced Girls' Society: Your Initiation into the Club You Never Thought You'd Join

Rate this book
Only grown-ups get divorced, right? Half of all couples may break-up, but it doesn't happen to us, or our friends. Or does it? The Divorced Girls' Society provides practical advice, tough love, and a touch of empathetic girlfriend humor. With a no-nonsense approach to the realities of divorce, it cuts through the psychobabble of self-help books, sets aside the flippant man-hating jokes, and tells it like it is.

The Divorced Girls' Society is the real-life unfolding of what happens to a formerly married thirty-something when the statistics win out. Punctuated with advice from a divorcing girl's best friend, this book is the first to integrate two points of view--the one trying to navigate the heady (but often silly and ridiculous) waters of divorce and the other attempting to balance the precarious roles of cheerleader, cynic, and best friend.

This book is for every woman who thought she wouldn't make it past the first night alone, only to make it through with flying colors thanks to a little help from her friends. Because even though statistics tell us that marriages will come and go, girlfriends are forever.

Hilarious. Just what a lot of women need to understand the quick, down and dirty things they need to get through a divorce. A spoonful of humor helps the medicine go down. No British nannies, plenty of adult humor.

I loved this book. I wish someone had given me a copy of it when my former husband said, "I'm finished." The book made me realize that other people were feeling the same things that I was. And that it was okay to feel sad, but with a little help my friends, I'll get through the ordeal. And now that I have, I'm looking forward I'm really looking forward to my future.

Thanks to Vicki King and Jennifer O'Connell for writing such a wonderful book.
