It is a reminder of the choices we make and the paths we follow.
Yesterday, I was loaned this book by the author's son. I work with him and our discussion turned to books one day and he asked if I had read his mother's book. I must say, as of today (3/31/2015) I am 100 pages into it and it badly needs an editor. There are several misspellings and this book is, at times, hard to follow when an entire conversation between characters is in one paragraph, also when reading about, say a trip to town and all of sudden, in the next sentence, the characters are already at home and it's evening. The characters also change how they speak, one minute sounding educated, the next, speaking like a backcountry hillbilly.
All that being said, the STORY isn't bad. We have a very well-off man who has many daughters, but has always wanted a son. I like that I am reading about an area I am somewhat familiar with and can imagine how it used to look.
I finished this book last night and really enjoyed it, other than the many, many spelling and typing errors.
