I'm an older student who will be rejoining the workforce, albeit in a totally different industry from the one in which I started, in two years. I wish I'd had this book, or something like it, when I was in my 20's. I'm an introvert and am better at dealing with people one-on-one; I had mistakenly dismissed "networking" as something for shallow glad-handers, and arrogantly thought I should be judged soley on the quality of my work.

The truth is only a small circle will know how truly good you are. The ubiquity of the Internet may help in some way, but there's too much information for potential employers and business partners to sift through.

I found this book useful insofar as answering questions I should have had during my fledgling attempts at networking in the early 2000's when I had well past hit my celing at my job and was looking elsewhere.

I'll look at other books in the series to see if they are as helpful, if not moreso.

My only gripe about the Kindle version of this book is that the default font size is just at the threshold of readability, as if I were reading stock agate type on a printed page. I hope this is corrected in future electronic editions.
