A very poor Russian couple was eating acorns when one of them fell and a tree began to grow. On top of the tree were a cockerel and a hand mill. He took them inside and discovered that the hand mill made pancakes and pies so they would never be hungry again. Later a rich man came and stole the hand mill. The cockerel goes to the city to find and bring home the hand mill.
