When I accidentally hit Ciera Adams with my car on the way out of college, I never could have predicted what would happen next. nerdy with glasses guy obsessed with the hot and popular rich girl ? that’s my new obsession. it gives some 00’s movies vibes and i literally devoured it!
there’s nothing that can compare a light smutty novella with some good kinks (wood chase👀) and a well build plot and cute characters with some secret pinning.
I especially loved the appearances of some other couples in the series 🥺

I loved this. Zaiden was so HOT, and so in love with her, I loved to see it. He helped her be herself, to be confortable with who she is and what she wants. Ciera just needed someone to tell it was ok to do what you want with your life and that's exactly what Zaiden did. They were an improbable couple but fit together so well. Their sex scenes were something else, chemistry all the way around

It was hard to read. I gave it 2 stars because it had the potential to be a good book, but the author tried to pack too much into a super short read. For such a short read it was weirdly fast paced. They immediately start dating after they “talk for the first time” and already bringing up the fact they’re soulmates.
Neither of the car accident scenes made sense to me. Realistically what happened, shouldn’t have happened. MMC somehow hits the FMC with the front of his car while he’s in the process of putting his car in reverse. It’s safe to assume the car is stopped and yet he somehow hits her. In another he’s driving “as fast as he possibly can”, hits a tree and only gets an ouchie on his face ??? He for sure should have died, or at least broken something.
The spicy scenes were hard to follow, I didn’t know who or what was where. The MMC was incredibly cringey with darling, purring, and his dirty talk.
When they were in the MMCs apartment, him and the FMC bounced around too much in their conversations. To me, it didn’t feel like they were having an actual conversation, just trying to get through as many topics at once.
I did like the bookstore scene, however it was weird to me that he randomly had a buzz buzz toy for her less than 18 hours after they “first talk” and start dating.
The author tried to portray the MMC as a “nice guy” but he went off the rails when he found out about the bet. He gets the FMC to the woods and basically SA’s her and somehow she’s the one begging for forgiveness at the end of it. I was honestly looking forward to the scream mask scene, it was basically the whole reason I chose to read this book. But the scene came off as rapey to me

I felt that the author tried to pack a full 400 word story into 70 or so pages and because of this it was very unlikeable for me. The author introduced too many things for a novella and so I found it hard to connect with the story and the characters, especially the MMC use of 'darling' had me cringing along with his dirty talk.
If this was a full length book it would have had a good plot and character development would have been promising

4.5! I’ve read a book by Laura before and it was so great, this ALSO AMAZING. She has a way of writing a novella where you feel like you are getting so much story out of it! The typical rich/popular girl and the nerdy boy but is (not surprisingly) a freak in the sheets!? (take a deep breath) and dive into this because it’s so good!

This book has all the bones of being a great book but was just executed poorly. It jumped around with incomplete thoughts and scenes that it made it hard for me to enjoy it. Maybe it’s the writing style or something.
When I read a book it’s like a movie plays in my head so when in the book she mentions he is starting to put his hoodie on with his head through it, then proceeds to have 10 minutes worth of dialogue that pertains to him having his hoodie off. To then say Mmc puts his shirt on and FMC can see his necklace and tattoo that’s on his chest and question about it but he was just putting on a hoodie.
And when the car wreck after he finds out happens he is “driving as fast as he can” and gets a minor cut on his chin from “wrapping” around a tree.
When he found out about the bet his first thought to is SA her is very extreme for him supposed to be a “kind and nice” guy, instead of talking about it like majority of normal adults would do.
Pretty much every scene with a car was very impractical. I usually over look things like that if it happens once, maybe twice, but it was constant.
There were too many story plots for such a small book.
While I did enjoy the bookstore scene it was odd that that’s what he decided to do for a 1st date?! I feel like this book needed to be way longer and less plot holes and jumping around.

This book felt like it was rushed and tried to cram too much into 70 pages. It jumped all over the place, with an unrealistic story line and inconsistencies. The MMC was "about to reverse" but then somehow hits the FMC who apparently "came out of nowhere in front of him". How do you hit someone in front of you when you were "about" to reverse? There was too much purring (12x) and growling (5x) for just 70 pages that it seemed overused. The characters fell for each other in a way that seemed hard to believe.
This would of been a DNF for me had it not been only 70 pages. Since I agreed to read it as an ARC, I felt I could make it through given how short it was. Had it not been for the ARC, this would have been a DNF.

Fix you is book 4 in the You series by Laura Golightly. I am utterly obsessed with all of these books and have to say that this one is my favorite!
Secrets and lies always lead to betrayal and revenge. What better revenge involves a scream mask in the….😉 Zaiden is the perfect book boyfriend with MANY hidden talents! He makes you fall in love with him from page one! His and Ciera’s story is tragic and bumpy but overall beautiful!
In order to be together what will limits will they go to? Who will fix themselves for love?
If you haven’t read this series yet I absolutely recommend that you do! Fix you also features characters from the other 3 books and makes their stories even better!!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This was a really quick, intense story that wasted no time getting into the plot. I really liked how the author was able to develop the story and character so much in such a short amount of time. I really felt for the two main characters, especially as the story progressed and am interested in reading the rest of the series. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick read and some spice that really hits the mark.

If you like fast and steamy quick novellas then this is a book for you!!
This book is the type of book that gives you a breather from bigger books, it is fast paced so no chance of that dreaded slow burn, nerdy dorky boy who crushes on the popular rich girl. Nerdy boy is also a devil when it comes to steamy scenes! 🌶️
First book I’ve read from this author, writing style is really easy and quick to get into it.

I want to start off to say I see SO much potential. I really like certain parts of it. I just wished it was longer and more details. I would like more backstory. The story is extremely rushed. I was able to read it under an hour. So it is a quick read. The spice was great. However, I couldnt connect with the characters. I found one cringy and the other annoying.

This is my honest review after reading the ARC copy of the book.
I had a hard time at first with this book, it felt hard to believe. But as the story continued there were some twists that brought everything to light making this a great story. It is a quick read. This book has some spice with the romance and a great storyline.

Finished in one sitting! I could not put this down oh my goodness. It has such a great plot and has a mix of some of my favorite tropes. Could definitely help with a a reading slump. It’s and easy, quick, and flowy read. Cant wait to read more of her books!

I feel like this could have been a good book, but it seems rushed and not in a good way. It’s like there are many parts of conversations and situations that are totally missing and the dots don’t totally connect.

We just finished Fix you by @laura and it was so good! Zaiden is one where you think he’s a cinnamon roll and then 💥 out of nowhere he gets 😈! This book was full of twists and turns and it is a short and quick read! We really enjoyed this one!

I always love reading Laura’s novellas. They are great quick reads. This one had some of the other characters from previous books in it which I loved. If you do not know what to read next I definitely recommend one of Laura’s book.

Although this is a novella and it is fast paced I don’t feel as though it was rushed like other novellas i have read. I loved Zaiden and Ciera’s chemistry and honestly couldn’t get enough of it and because of that I do wish this book was a little bit longer🥺

Although this is a novella and it is fast paced I don’t feel as though it was rushed like other novellas i have read. I loved Zaiden and Ciera’s chemistry and honestly couldn’t get enough of it and because of that I do wish this book was a little bit longer🥺
I highly recommend this novella.
