This was part of my research for my novel-in-progress, Perfecting Eden, which is a fictional account of the lives of my ancestors in the Oneida Community. Much of the material is covered in greater depth in other histories, but this memoir offers many small details of daily living that provide an interesting perspective for the reader and the raw material of verisimilitude for the novelist.
