Three Singing Pigs: Making Music With Traditional

Rate this book
This is a collection of popular children's stories with ideas for making music in the classroom. Musical concepts are inherent in many traditional stories. Sounds slide up and down as Jack climbs his beanstalk, for example. The author has intertwined familiar storylines with parts for percussion, actions, well-known melodies and ideas for composition which develop the implied musical concepts. Non-specialists who are not confident in handling musical ideas should find this a simple and quick way into the music curriculum."

what a brilliant book for adding musical fun and training to storytime. Great for themes of fairytales like jack and the beanstalk or traditional tales like the little red hen.
