Marine biologist Kathy McNeely enlists the help of an Eskimo tribe and an undercover government agent to stop an illegal ivory-poaching operation in Alaska that threatens the walrus population. By the author of The Ice. 15,000 first printing. Reader's Digest Cond Bks.
I'm aware that humans constantly endanger wildlife, but we also need oil and things. It makes me a fence sitter on these issues. I liked this book because it was exciting. Plus, most people can agree that killing a creature--poaching--just for the ivory and letting the rest of the creatures go to waste is terrible. This was an RD condensed novel.
