This was a sweet, clean new adult romance. It was a tad predictable, but still very enjoyable. Each of the characters was distinct and likable. Except Phil, who was a bit of a dog.

Eavy was naive and innocent. Her obsession was unfortunate and yet felt very real. I've experienced that kind of obsessive crush before, and Eavy's thoughts, behaviours and actions felt true and believable. I would venture a guess that the author has experienced those emotions first hand, because it's hard to fake that level of connection.

Adam was super sweet and patient. A true good guy that you want to root for.

My only critism was the dialogue. It didn't feel natural. People don't talk like that. It was very formal and everyone so openly revealed their true thoughts and feelings. Even in awkward moments, no one even hesitated to speak their full feelings and intentions. Not likely to happen in real life.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read in a relatively uncluttered genre. Contemporary new adult romances don't seem to be everywhere, and if it's something you want to try, I'd definitely suggest this book. Just look beyond the dialogue to the sweetness underneath.

I read Eavy very shortly after it was released and I really enjoyed it! Eavy is a likable character who is just trying to figure out what she's doing with her life and how it had gotten so far off track from what she had planned for herself.

I've read the book a few times now and its as entertaining the second and third time as it was the first!

Laura Scoggins did a great job with her first book and I look forward to reading her future work.
