Welcome to Flicks Cinemas. Meet Alex Morgan, your assistant manager for the evening. He is a widower, 30 (okay, forty) pounds overweight, and trying desperately to find some bigger meaning in a life that hasn’t quite turned out like he planned. Meet your manager for the night, Ash (short for “Ashford Simpson,” his mother was a big fan). He is a gay black man who’s too old to be smelling popcorn six nights a week and working so hard while his boyfriend scours the town for younger, or richer, men. Stranded in the midst of Orlando, the hometown of those five geniuses behind that gazillion-dollar blockbuster The Blair Witch Project, what else are they to do but make a horror film (a really bad horror film) of their own? After all, how hard could it be?
