Objectivement, on ne pourra que saluer la qualité de ce « chef d’œuvre » dont l’univers merveilleux et la savoureuse utilisation des jeux de mots traversent les esprits et les âges.
Ceci dit, il est difficile de recommander le séjour aux pays des merveilles à celui qui recherche un minimum de logique et de sens dans une intrigue fantastique. Lewis Carroll embarque volontairement son lecteur dans un monde totalement décousu où le non-sens règne en maître. Expérience délicieusement absurde pour certains, laborieux voyage dénudé d’intérêt et de cohérence pour d’autres. L’appréciation final se situe pile poil entre ces deux pôles.
