The intent was to write without attaching any significance to the name that’s holding the pen; to break away from the compulsion to write smart, to write with acuity that desires a keen eye.
I began putting words together and they turned into songs. The medium freed me from self-critical procrastination. Songs can be cliched, and repetitive, and simple. Songs can be clunky, gaudy and idiotic. There is no excuse for not jotting down a ditty.
I was free when I was putting this together, I could feel, I could see, I could cry openly.
Siddharth Tripathi was born in Allahabad and schooled in Banaras. He is a B.E from NIT Trichy and an MBA from MDI, Gurgaon. The Virgins, published in 2013, is his first novel. Blowfish, his second novel, was published by Bloomsbury in September 2017. His first two books are now being adapted for a serialized OTT release.
For the last five years, Siddharth has been a practitioner of the non-dual (advaita) path to spiritual wisdom and has extensively researched the advaita teachings of Sri Ramana Maharishi and Sri Ramesh Balsekar. unMind (published in 2020) is a culmination of that journey.
Songbook, published in 2023, is his first collection of songs / poems.
