Advertised as completely updated every year, in full-color, with foldout map and insider advice on avoiding the crowds when exploring some of Paris greatest sights, new edition of Frommer's Paris guide for year 2013 is good book for first time Paris visitors.

It will help giving basic or some advanced data about most important places to be visited (Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe) but also for Paris not so famous sights (eerie Catacombs, new avant-garde Palais de Tokyo museum). Inside you can also find extensive list of recommended places where you can eat a good meal or drink something refreshing after a long sightseeing tour, from the coolest neo-bistros and bars to the most gourmet Michelin-starred French restaurants.

You can find also number of hotel reviews divided by parts of the city, from expensive ones to the moderately priced choices for most of the real people. List of museums and attractions is also very comprehensive, supplemented with city map where all of them are marked for easier orientation.

If you are coming to Paris not for the first time and want some more information about particular sights I suggest you to buy some other more precise guide because information on some are pretty basic.

There are no major drawbacks, although it would be great to have more reviews of places where cheaper meals can be ordered because in my opinion those are places most readers are interested for. In city where restaurants are literally side by side in most of the streets that would be of great interest of Paris tourists.

Good guide with lot of information and nice pictures, to take it with you each and every day of your Paris visit.

Highly recommended.
