Cath is extremely passionate and well informed about the history and development of Mayfield. The detailed factual accounts of her early life in the district and the changing face of Mayfield over the years since first inhabited by European settlers are a tribute to Ms Chegwidden.
Cath's acknowledgment of the traditional land owners and the manner in which she addresses those challenging years is a tribute to her and respectful of the past.
I am particularly proud to be an owner of one of the "flats" referred to by Ms Chegwidden which was developed from the refurbishment of Cath's early childhood school building in Havelock Street, Mayfield.
The book makes for excellent reading and is a tribute to Cath's professionalism, respect and dedication to retaining a part of history for the benefit of current and future generations.
