William F. Temple (1914-1989), an important early British science fiction writer, cofounded the British Interplanetary Society with Sir Arthur C. Clarke and helped found New Worlds, the most important British science fiction magazine. His other novels include The Four-Sided Triangle (1949), Battle on Venus (1963), Shoot at the Moon (1966), and The Fleshpots of Sansato (1968).
