During the month of November I decided to read Disaster at Lunker Lake by Donald G. Kramer. I would rate this book a 7 out of 10, it wasn’t great but at the same time it wasn’t horrible. It was telling a great story about a curious kid with a brother who was on the shy side. Tim was ready for any adventure and nothing was going to get in the way of him following his dreams. Josh on the other hand is the total opposite! He was hesitant about every adventure and if something got in the way of what he wanted to do he would let it. My favorite character of this book is definitely Tim because he reminds me of myself. Our personalities are so similar in a great way. I think his characteristics helped me get through this book and made it more fun to read. He is totally the reason this book got a 7 instead of a 2. An interesting structural element is definitely the setting of the book. This book takes place mostly at Lunker Lake in Canada. If it weren’t for this setting the book would not be the same whatsoever. They are stranded in this place for 12 days, they live of of things they can find in or out of the lake, for example fish and berries. They have to use the setting given to them to survive! My favorite quote from this book is “ We’ll never be quite the same.” I like this quote a lot because it shows how sometimes the hardest things in life will change you the most!
