After the subway incident, all 18-year-old Gemma Conners wanted to do was put the past where it belonged, behind her. It’s been five months since she had to fight for her life alongside her now boyfriend, Archer Daniels, on a New York subway train.
Now, all Gemma wanted to do was get on with her life and forget about everything that had happened, and what better way to do that than to take a trip and just get away?
Gemma, Archer, and her entire senior class are going on their senior trip to Hawaii. A week in Hawaii alongside her boyfriend, best friend, and the rest of her graduating class sounded like paradise on earth after everything that had happened to her. So, what could go wrong?
The answer is everything. Because unfortunately, there’s one uninvited guest on this trip, and he has unfinished to business to settle with both Gemma and Archer.
Slightly better and more addicting than the first book but still needed improvement
Archer’s ex was being extremely obnoxious which pretty much ruined the beginning of the story
The police officers played dumb the whole time and did absolutely nothing 😑
Why did archer choose to save his friends and not Gemma (HIS OWN GIRLFRIEND) who was about to be kidnapped in front of him? Dox literally runs away with Gemma and Archer just runs the other way to the hotel where his friends are being held 💀
The part where archer “navigates” in the woods to find Gemma (after he finds his friends) was very confusing and dumb
The only part I like about the book is when archer gets tortured by Dox in the ending. Yes I know that it’s odd that I like that part but it actually disturbed me the way a horror book should disturb someone and it impressed me how much chills I got from reading that scene

I read a lot of dark and twisted stuff, so to me, this was a palate cleanser! It was fast paced for the most part. There were a few times I thought I wouldn't finish it, but I'm glad I did! I haven't read the first book (didn't know there was one), but I feel this book could equate to a standalone. Beautiful Hawaii turned so tragic in the blink of an eye. Enjoyed the epilogue, as it finished telling any unanswered questions you may have had!
Where to begin… These books have SO much potential to be great but are completely downgraded by the unnecessary, unrealistic immaturity of the main character. This child is supposed to be a senior in high school but the book reads like it’s a middle school dance filled with melodrama out the ass. I had to stop and ask myself if I was reading a slasher book meant for 5th graders with how obnoxiously ridiculous these teenagers are written. It’s very hard to enjoy with this particular main character in both books in this series. But this clearly didn’t stop me from reading both of them 😂 Honestly, the thrills were great. I was truly nervous at times during both stories and I love getting nervy with a good scary time. If it wasn’t for the delightful thrills, these books would be zero stars for me. But had they been written with a likable and more believable lead, I’d give them 5 ⭐️
It's such a thrilling short story. I love them ngl hoping for a part 3. But they are such a cute couple and their love is amazing . The antagonist is a complete lunatic that drive you to the edge so you rally for archer and Gemma to survive. Good rainy day story.
