Raw Meat Detective Wells, a Hollywood homicide detective and 3 other detectives from 3 surrounding Ca. cities try to find the people involved in the many deaths due to the eating of poisoned human meat which was sold as exotic Ostrich meat out of Butcher Shops owned by the Mob. Was the mob selling the remains of their enemies or was there others involved who were just as sinister? You'll have to read Raw Meat to find out the grisly answer.

I tried so hard to like this novel; I put RAW MEAT down quite a few times. The book begins with a newspaper reporter named Bobby Legend who claims RAW MEAT is his story, but it's not. He is never mentioned again. Instead the story is told by an alcoholic middle-aged homicide detective named John Wells. There are quite a few words which are inappropriately used and bit of repetition. A lot of time was spent telling how many cocktails Wells and 3 other detectives had for lunch, and how many shots Wells drank every night before passing out. Wells constantly drove under the influence and did interviews while drunk. I was also informed every time someone lit a cigarette; this is a short novel! I also had a few believability issues. I'm so sorry; I've never given a book 2 stars before.
