In this intricately crafted, unforgettable debut, sisters Cassar and Walsh follow the intertwined lives of three contemporary Midwestern teenagers as they reach young adulthood. Robyn Lasette is a budding artist burdened by a life of violence and neglect. With the help of his friends, Alice and Marc, he struggles to overcome his past and find direction in his future. A poignant, fearlessly written tale, Stutter explores the complex realities of love, loss, despair, redemption, and forgiveness.
These characters were so complex, yet very real. The relationships between them were not like the average teenagers. And the love between the characters goes far beyond casual friendships. I cried with each of them along the way. What an excellent first time work.
