The book's beginning and ending were weak compared to the middle. I closed the book wanting so much more. Hopefully Marcus Major will write a sequel. A great book for a book club because it will definately inspire interesting discussions.

I read this book 20 years ago when it was released, and I LOVED it. Marcus Major is a wordsmith storyteller. I admired that a lot, which is why I am still terribly heartbroken he haven't written anything beyond four novels.

I love this book like I read it for the very first time. This one was a great reread and a fantastic end for Black History Month (BHM) books.
