Textbook used in my college history 10o level class. Not many people pick up history textbooks for leisure reading, but if you do, this is a good one. If you're looking for a textbook to use in a class, I do recommend this one. It's up-to-date, with interesting sidebars. Occasional references to "large tracts of land" are distracting for students familiar with Monty Python. And like any textbook, it should be supplemented with plenty of primary source material. But for what it is, it's as good as it can be.
