Although there were absolutely some great points in here to consider, this book was extremely dry. I'm not sure who the target audience is, but there's no way that physical education teachers are sitting down to read this. Often having so many citations in a chapter detracts from the flow of the reading, perhaps another citation style would have been beneficial? It is also a bit unfortunate that it is so focused on the UK experience as it would've been nice to have more information about PE in general/world-wide. There were some aspects such as the vignettes included in the coaching chapter that would have been better to read if that was the way the whole book was written. Again, some really important material dispersed throughout the book, but extremely dry. Honestly, if the pandemic wasn't happening, I don't think there is any way that I would have finished this book.
