Amazing hippie era kids book. Contains fable-like stories about racism, hunting, obeying your parents, and all in cryptic and creative ways.

From an era when it was totally appropriate to scare your children into behaving properly. As a child in the 80s this was one of my favorite books.

My little sister had this book we were small children, and I was just obsessed with it. Its a gruesome collection of stories.. cautionary tales, about villains who come and exact excruciating tortures upon bad little boys and girls. They wouldn't be allowed to publish a book like this nowadays, but this book is really something else.

Read this years ago and have loved it ever since. A translation of 'tales' from an author in Holland, with wonderful depictions of each story. Lessons to be learned by all young folks and an "In your face" approach. Adults will love it!!
