Zax a land that has been ravaged by fire and the soil laid to waste. It’s a land of few animals and fewer place that have useful vegetation. The Schro a family group traveling on Zax are looking for a place to farm the few seeds they have passed down from before the great fire. The Schro consist of Dav, whom they call Papa and Jude whom the kids call GG the parents of Mar, Mar her husband Ro who have 3 children, Tin who is married to Ash and have a daughter Ames and son Hunter, Kac and her husband Nic, and Jam and Em who have their son Kane. They have been moving across Zax looking for a better place to settle and for other people who have also survived the great fire. In Trail 1 the children discover the new world of Qixis. Trail 2 is the children's journey back to Qixis and getting the family to come along with them.
