Manageable in length and communicative in approach, this brief introductory Spanish program is a favorite text for schools that have a limited number of contact hours per week and like to finish the entire book in the first year. The foundation of Que tal? rests solidly on the development of the four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) with a nice selection of lively activities.
Worst language textbook EVER, and I've read quite a few. It's extremely disorganized and sloppy. The info might be in there, but it's a nightmare to find. The layout is awful, the pictures are terrible, broken exercises, it's a mess. It's 400 pages long and I've seen languages books that are 100 pages long and have more info, and in a much better format. In fact, the little pamphlets that come with language tapes are more useful.
DON'T BUY A NEW COPY. This book is definitely not worth it if you need to buy this for a class. In fact, if your instructor requires this book, I recommend dropping the course while you can still get your refund.
