I don't have any youngsters that can give me their opinion of this book, so my adult one while have to suffice. This is the story of Jemima that cat, who after being captured by pirates, creatively and humanely gets her own back on them and saves the day. You would think with a plot like that, it would be a very exciting story, and perhaps it would be for some young readers, but I found it a little dull. This story is better reserved for older picture book readers, who can manage the longer text and slightly scary plot. Please note, some children may be frightened by the pictures of the dogs.
