The Man I Picked Up

Rate this book
When men's club owner Tamaki closes up, he's surprised to find a battered man lying out front in the open. Responding to the man's fear and need, he picks up the stray and takes him home to bind his wounds. It soon becomes all-too apparent that Kouta is much more like a stray, beaten down puppy than even Tamaki had first realized, but it also becomes rather apparent that Kouta feels more than mere gratitude. Is it only pity that Tamaki's generous nature feels tugging at his heart strings, or has the stray Kouta found his home?

Also writes under the pen-name of Pancho Bikkuri.

- Her doujinshi circles are called M2 COMPANY and XX's.
- she likes fairies and foreigners
- Her nationality is Japanese, and she's not Jewish, the pen-name is meant to be funny
- shota-complex

(Once self proclaimed a "Russian living in America", but at the same time she also claimed she's 14 years old...so that was obviously a joke.)

It was alright. Some of the stories cute ores (like the last two) were weird.... Manliness in the form of a cheer squad. Constantly talking about manliness.

Cute if you want a quirky quick read.

I picked this Manga up very cheap on Amazon not knowing much about it. I wanted to try something different and get into something that I didnt know much about, if i didnt like it it wouldnt have mattered as it was so cheap. I actually really enjoyed this manga, sometimes it did get a bit unrelastic and weird but overall it made me smile and was a good read.

The Man I Picked Up and The Man I Got Caught Up With are from a compilation of short stories with the same title. Tamaki owns a gay bar, well more like a host club and one night while closing up he finds a battered man Kouta hunched on his stoop. He takes Kouta in. Kouta is a big guy, unrefined and “not cute” as Tamaki puts it, but he lends a hand around the club and eventually becomes an invaluable asset. And as Tamaki quickly discovers Kouta is crazy about him. These two shorts have simple plots, attractive characters, and humour. I’m positive if you read them you’ll route for Kouta like I did.
