This book has helped me a lot for running distances and for running track. If you are a runner this book is for you, I run track and this book has helped start having plans for running, having better form. I recommend this book to any runner. I rate this book a 5 out of 5 because it has helped me on all levels of running. This book contains plans for running/workouts, nutrition and all sorts of details about running that could help you. I definitely recommend this book for any runner
I am running a marathon in a month and a half, so I stopped by the library to see what running books they had available. There were none but this one. I know why it was the only one there, too - nobody else wanted it, because it wasn't all that informative.
It's kind of like a long version of a magazine article about running. Nothing too new. But again, maybe I've read too many running books. I would suggest the following for running your first marathon:
The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer, by David A. Whitsett, Forrest A. Dolgener, Tanjalavo Kole.
The Nonrunner's Marathon Guide for Women: Get Off Your Butt and On with Your Training, by Dawn Dais.
For fun, running inspiration: Marathon Woman, by Kathrine Switzer Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner, by Dean Karnazes
